It is just a touch earlier than past seasons, perhaps hoping to stock up on those good fall ratings.
Not much to add to that at this point, other than that I would be amazed if "Once Upon a Time" did not have at least a full seven-season run, pretty much regardless of its occasionally sketchy ratings. It doesn't seem to have any competition on Sunday nights, and it is a perfect lead-in to the entire holiday season every year - though it kind of limps to a close in the spring. Plus, "Once" helps to sell Disney's other brands. The only real question is whether the "Frozen" momentum from last year can be sustained, or there is a steep drop-off in its absence.
